It’s Open Studios season in San Francisco! This is typically our warmest & sunniest (in the Inner Sunset where I live) time of year, so more summer than fall…but all over SF, we are heading into Open Studios season. Open Studios is a 5-week extravaganza of art on display and a great opportunity to meet artists in their studios, organized by Art Span SF.
My building, 1890 Bryant St Studios, will be open Oct 2-4, along with a bevy of other studios and buildings in neighborhoods nearby. I’ll be showing my colorful mixed media work on panels, along with some more affordable works on paper, and a summer project of small 6” x 6” works on paper. We typically have 100 artists showing in our building alone, so hope to see you there!

In-person workshop at the Case For Making Art Room
If you haven’t visited this beautiful shop and workspace in the Outer Sunset, you are in for a treat! I’ll be hosting a mixed media lab focused on creative pattern-making. This is a less structured workshop with time to relax and explore pattern-making as meditative practice, generate your own collage papers, and connect with yourself or other participants. Suitable for all levels. Price: $40

That's why we love it. This is a show for collectors, showcasing work driven by images, materials, and methods that are all Bay Area-inspired.

In-person workshop at the Case For Making Art Room
This abstract mark-making and mixed media workshop will explore intuitive ways of making marks to develop freedom and confidence in the process. We will begin with activities designed to explore materials and experiment with various approaches to creating marks. We will then cut & collage the papers we created in warm-up activities, add additional material, and explore meaning through the creation of an abstract piece rooted in your unique sensibility. Open to all levels, activities will include low-pressure drawing & doodling, pattern-making, painting, and collage.
